This part of the IEC 61427 series gives general information relating to the requirements for the secondary batteries used in photovoltaic energy systems (PVES) and to the typical methods of test used for the verification of battery performances. This part deals with cells and batteries used in photovoltaic off-grid applications.
NOTE The part 2 of this series will cover cells and batteries used in "renewable energy storage in on-grid applications".

Scope:
This standard defines the method for determining load unbalance emission limits for customers connecting to, or requesting connection to BC Hydro's public medium-voltage (MV) distribution network. It also describes the assessment process for verifying compliance with prescribed load unbalance emission limits.

(a) to all boilers, pressure vessels and plants to which the Act applies;
(b) to all pressure piping, fittings or other equipment attached to or used in connection with boilers or pressure vessels to which the Act applies;
(c) to all operating engineers, operators and welding operators to whom the Act applies; and
(d) to all work performed on boilers, pressure vessels, plants and equipment referred to in paragraphs (a) and (b).

Provides a number of methods, describing in each case the apparatus required, precautions required, procedure and interpretation of the results of proving gas tightness of vacuum or pressurized plant. Contains over 100pp.

This document was prepared by BC Hydro (BCH) to guide generator owners and proponents in connecting generators to the BCH distribution system at 35 kV and below. It applies to all generators, whether utility or non-utility owned, and these generating plants are referred to as a Power Generator (PG).
