Environmental Requirements

This standard sets forth some general considerations that should be taken into account when developing battery standards that balance the need to achieve the intended product performance while reducing adverse environmental effects, and outlines ways in which provisions in battery standards might affect the environment during the stages of its life cycle.

This Document specifies methods, apparatus, and calculations which are used in conjunction with Performance Test Codes to determine quantitatively, the gaseous constituents of exhausts resulting from stationary combustion sources. The gases covered by this Document are oxygen, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitrogen, sulfur dioxide, sulfur trioxide, nitric oxide, nitrogen dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, and hydrocarbons.

The object of test is to determine the performance characteristics of equipment designed to collect particulate matter from a gas stream.

This new work item proposal deals with general environmental requirements, specific environmental requirements of EES systems.
