Preface
This is the eighteenth edition of CSA B51, Boiler, pressure vessel, and pressure piping code. It supersedes the previous editions published in 2009, 2003, 1997, 1995, 1991, 1986, 1981, 1975, 1972, 1969, 1965, 1960, 1957, 1955, 1951, 1945, and 1939.
ASME has been defining piping safety since 1922.
ASME B31.3 contains requirements for piping typically found in petroleum refineries; chemical, pharmaceutical, textile, paper, semiconductor, and cryogenic plants; and related processing plants and terminals. It covers materials and components, design, fabrication, assembly, erection, examination, inspection, and testing of piping.
The National Fire Code of Canada 2015 (NFC), published by NRC and developed by the Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes, sets out the technical provisions regulating activities related to the construction, use or demolition of buildings and facilities, the condition of specific elements of buildings and facilities, and the design or construction of specific elements of facilities related to certain hazards as well as the protection measures for the current or intended use of buildings.

Additional technical information can be obtained from hydrogen gas manufacturers.
This publication presents design guidelines for hydrogen vent systems used in gaseous and liquid hydrogen systems at user sites and provides recommendations for safe operation of these vents. It begins at the discharge port of safety devices and other components that control the release of hydrogen and ends at the point where hydrogen concentration in the atmosphere is below the lower flammable limits. It also provides information on the production, transportation, handling, and storage of compressed hydrogen, cryogenic liquid hydrogen, and related products.
This standard shall apply to the design, installation, acceptance testing, operation, and ongoing periodic testing of smoke control systems. A.1.1 This standard incorporates methods for applying engineering calculations and reference models to provide a designer with the tools to develop smoke control system designs. The designs are based on select design objectives presented in Section 4.1.
This document was prepared by BC Hydro (BCH) to guide generator owners and proponents in connecting generators to the BCH distribution system at 35 kV and below. It applies to all generators, whether utility or non-utility owned, and these generating plants are referred to as a Power Generator (PG).
