This is an informative document covering the broadest aspects of automatic monitor systems as they apply to traction battery applications. The subject of the guide covers those monitor characteristics and features which need to be controlled, though not necessarily currently available. In addition it accommodates those characteristics which are measurable and provides interpretations of accuracy and reliability of the information generated. This publication has the status of a Technical Report - type 3

The Nomenclature includes the General Rules for the Interpretation of the Harmonized System (HS), Section, Chapter and Subheading Notes and a list of Headings and Subheadings.
Each Heading is identified by a four figure number.
The first two figures correspond to the number of the Chapter, the next two to the level of the Heading within the Chapter.

Guidance and implementation procedures for the IEEE 1680 family of standards is provided, and the methods by which manufacturers may declare electronic products as conforming with the standards in the IEEE 1680 family of standards and by which such conformance may be verified are defined. The standards within the family will provide clear and consistent performance criteria for the design of electronic products, thereby providing an opportunity to secure market recognition for efforts to reduce the environmental impact of electronic products.

IEC TR 62746-2:2015(EN) describes the main pillars of interoperability to assist different Technical Committees in defining their interfaces and messages covering the whole chain between a smart grid and smart home/building/industrial area.

IEC TR 61850-90-3:2016(E) addresses communication aspects related to specific sensor networks that are widely used as well as information exchange towards asset management systems. Since the outcome of this work will affect several parts of IEC 61850, in a first step, this technical report has been prepared to address the topic from an application specific viewpoint across all affected parts of IEC 61850. Once this technical report has been approved, the affected parts of the standard will be amended with the results from the report.

IEC 61131-6:2012 specifies requirements for programmable controllers (PLCs) and their associated peripherals, as defined in Part 1, which are intended to be used as the logic subsystem of an electrical/electronic/programmable electronic (E/E/PE) safety-related system. A programmable controller and its associated peripherals complying with the requirements of this part is considered suitable for use in an E/E/PE safety-related system and is identified as a functional safety programmable logic controller (FS-PLC). An FS-PLC is generally a hardware (HW) / software (SW) subsystem.
