PURPOSE AND APPLICATION
This standard defines the minimum requirements and
technical specifications for the interconnection of
distributed generation to the Hydro-Québec medium-vo
ltage (MV) distribution system. The standard is
also applicable when an existing generati
ng station must be modified or upgraded.
Given the various means of generation, modes of
interconnection and potential system constraints,
Hydro-Québec may define certain specific requirements at the time each case is reviewed.

1 PURPOSE AND FIELD OF APPLICATION
This standard defines the minimum technical requirements and specifications for connecting single-phase or three-phase decentralized generation to the Hydro-Québec low voltage (LV) distribution network. It also applies when such a plant is modified or repaired. The plants covered by this document have the following characteristics:
• maximum rated three-phase power of 600 kVA;

This standard defines the minimum technical requirements and specifications for the connection of
decentralized production without power injection to the low voltage (LV) distribution network and
medium voltage (MV) from Hydro-Québec. This standard applies to all new installations as well as to
those that are subject to modification or repair.
The plants covered by this document must not, under any circumstances, inject current, energy or

This standard defines the minimum technical requirements and specifications for connecting the
decentralized generation to the Hydro-Québec low voltage (LV) distribution network. Centrals
covered by this document have the following characteristics:
• single-phase maximum nominal power of 20 kW;
• maximum nominal three-phase power of 50 kW;
• use of inverters certified according to section 15 of standard CSA C22.2 no 107.1-01.

OBJECT
The purpose of this standard is to establish the

of Hydro-Quebec Distribution (HQD).
It also aims to establish a plan for many
periodic nance of this equipment, to which the
Producer/Client-producer must comply.

This standard defines the requirements and conditions governing the metering of medium- and high-voltage applications.

It is meant for Hydro-Québec personnel, licensed electricians, consulting engineers and equipment manufacturers. It also aims to facilitate relations between Hydro-Québec and its customers when medium- or high-voltage electrical installations are installed or modified.
